Well, time for another entry. I was very shocked to discover that I didn't update this time last year, after the stage collapse! I was coming here to make an update about the past year after the stage collapse, only to discover that I didn't even bother to write about it on here!

Well, February 20, 2008 will be one year since 12 of us fell through the stage during our school play. I had a part, and I was student director, and it was my senior play! It was depressing at first, but I just have to say that I have had a very good year since then! I remember what I felt that day when it happened, but I don't dream about it actually happening anymore. And I have a new outlook that if something else happens to me like that, I'll get to say that I'm cursed and that I should live in a bubble for the rest of my life. I know the chances of something else big happening to me aren't that high, so I'm just going to live my life without worrying about stairs caving in or risers collapsing, or something else. We actually got to finish the play, a few months after the accident in a nearby theatre. It was great. I had so much fun... again. The school is doing Beauty and the Beast for this year's musical. I'm so jealous! haha.

College is rough. I'm surviving as a Pre-Med student, but I'm not thriving, so I am considering changing to either nursing or Pre-Law.

Other than that, not much else is going on. I finished my first season in the million dollar band. (A link to a youtube video can be found below. I made the video of all of my piccolo friends at the Senior Bowl). I'm ready for summer so that I can find a summer job and make some money!

I haven't updated in SO long... so I thought I would!

I'm a freshman at the University of Alabama and I marched my first season as a piccolo player in the Million Dollar Band! WOW! It was amazing marching in front of 93,000 people in Bryant-Denny! This place is so full of history, and I love it for that.

I'm a biology major, planning on Pre-Med... but it is SO hard! My very first biology class is kicking my tail! I have a C and I'm ABOVE AVERAGE!

Its getting cold, here, and I can't wait to go home for the holidays! This week is "dead week." That means that we don't have tests so that we have an entire week to study for final exams, which are next week. UGH.

Speaking of which, I have an essay due Tuesday on Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl. I better get started! lol

Wow... Its been a while... I must say that tomorrow is my last day of English, Economics, Anatomy, and "Marching Band". I'm actually sad to be leaving some people. I've had GREAT classes, but I think next symester will be JUST as good, if not better!!!

Right now I need to study for my Economics exam... Its gonna suck because I haven't looked at anything yet!

I'm also trying to put together a scrapbook for Mrs. Rainey, and I've been going through band people's myspaces and facebooks to find pictures from this year's band season. I found the PERFECT picture of the band in the stands, but upon further review, I realized that most of the people graduated two years ago... therefore, it was not a recent picture and she wouldn't have known a lot of the people! lol

Well, often, I post entries which I posted exactly a year ago... well, this time, I am posting something that I posted the week before Competition last year... its just a few days off... Here we go! ENJOY!

Okay. This is the part where all of you come to realize how much of a band geek I really am. (please skip this if you are going to make fun of me... lol.) I just have to get this out. I got seven and a half hours of sleep last night, and I dreamed all about band. I remember it too. First, the band went on a trip to Islands of Adventure. (random) Katie Webb worked there. That wasn't about band, but whatever. Then it switched to a dream that I have had before. It was kind of like the Peanut Festival, but they had a football field in the middle of it. Well, so the show started and I was in line with my flute, and I looked down and I didn't have my uniform on yet. I thought it was too late, because they were already on the field and in the middle of their halftime show, and then all of the sudden, they turn around and its another band, doing really badly. (in what seems like the same halftime show, but I got freaked out after what seemed like them yelling something about red white and black. I don't know whtat the cra was happening). So I ran around for "hours" looking for the bus. It was like I was running in quicksand. Finally, I found David, who was in his bedroom (wtf?!?) and he took me through a secret passage from his room that led straight to the buses. Turns out, he didn't have his uniform on either. (again, wtf?!?) So, we both get our uniforms on, and we run back to the field, and our band was already on the field. I was on the sidelines with a bunch of colorguard (?), people who had missed rehearsal, and boosters. The show starts and OMG. People turn the complete wrong direction for the first note, step off on the wrong foot, horn angles suck, no one is in step, I couldn't even hear the music because the band boosters were cheering so loud (I remember that vividly) and the show is sucking. We lost. lol. For good reason too. I swear, this dream will forever scare me. (not nearly as bad as the one where I'm marching in a halftime show and Mr. Bolich comes over the speaker saying, "Sara Elizabeth Matthews, get back in step." lol) I think I'm already getting nervous. The fact that so many people left yesterday before band truly scares me. I thought that we would have three great rehearsals this week, like always, and really pull it together, but people are gone!!! I have mad respect for Ashley Byrd. She felt like POO today and marched the entire time. Mad respect.

So, if you don't already know, band competition is Saturday. Even though I know we won't do as bad as my dream, it kind of freaks me out that I would even THINK that. Talk about a nightmare. Well, We'll be fine. I just hope we get some MAJOR run throughs Thursday, and also that the sectional goes REALLY well, because the flutes neeeeeeeed it. That's it. I just wanted to talk about my dream so that I don't forget it. lol. I think I'll go to rehearsal and remind everyone to turn right on the first move. haha. Just Kidding. We are way better than that.

Okay, well I still have to do my Spanish project. Chile is a BORING country. I really just don't want to do it. Grrr.

(If anyone actually read the above post, it was odd because I mentioned that it all took place at Islands of Adventure, which had nothing to do with band... but that's where we went on our band trip last year!! haha how coincidental!)

Lost the game tonight... I guess I'll go to bed now!

Last night I watched Heroes, that show is CREEPY! But it comes on right before Studio 60, and I felt obligated to watch it.

In other news, I am extremely sick. I have the biggest head cold ever... And even though that sucks, I am going to band. I'll probably have a box of tissues with me, but I'll be there. Tabby nearly died after she got spayed. She's okay though. The nice doctor lady (Dr. Bragg) at Andrews Avenue vet fixed her up. She lost SOO much weight. Now she's perfectly fine. Well, I've gotta run... I need to sneeze again.
